Ingredients

•

1/4 cup (50 mL) loose black tea leaves such as Ceylon Lover's Leap

•

1/2 cup (125 mL) dried mint

•

1/2 cup (125 mL) hot chocolate mix

•

1/2 cup (125 mL) toasted, sliced or slivered almonds

Preparation

Layer ingredients in order, into a 2-cup (500 mL) glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Seal tightly and affix a gift tag with the following instructions: To brew: remove almonds from jar and reserve.

Cover jar and shake until ingredients are well combined. Place 1 tsp (15 mL) of tea mixture for each cup of boiling water into a teapot.

Pour in boiled water and stir. Cover, and steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Pour tea; top with whipped cream and toasted almonds.

Makes approximately 30 servings.

Tip: Look for jars with reservoir-style lids, which can be filled with the nuts to keep them separated from the tea mixture.
