Ingredients

2 tbsp loose black tea |
|
|
|
1 orange |
|
|
|
2 egg yolks |
|
|
|
3 tbsp sugar |
|
|
|
1 tsp vanilla extract |
|

Preparation
|
|
1. Pour 1-1/2 cups boiling water over tea and steep for 10 minutes. Squeeze juice from orange. In a hot double boiler, beat egg yolk, sugar, and vanilla constantly with a wire whisk until foamy.
2. Add orange juice and continue beating until mixture is foamy.
3. Remove leaves from tea and gradually add tea to pot and serve almost boiling in large, pre-warmed punch glasses.
