Take time out for a 3-step hand massage

By Alison Finney

What should I do to relieve pain in my sore and tight hands?

After several hours of typing on the computer or working with your hands, your palms and fingers can feel tired and sore. Here are three easy steps to a tension-melting hand massage:

1. Squeeze each finger all over and make small circular movements over the joints.

2. Hold one finger at its base and pull it gently, letting your grip slide toward your fingertip. Repeat with each finger.

3. Turn your hand over and support the back with your fingers. Work your thumb in firm circles, moving all over your palm and around your wrist.

Repeat with the other hand, then finish by applying hand lotion. In three easy steps, you can ease tightness in your hands and continue working comfortably.

Now that you've soothed your hands, click here for advice on giving yourself a relaxing 10-minute foot massage.
