Zeus, the king of the gods, often had dramatic fits of sorrow. What fruit was used to calm him?
a) apples
b) kiwi
c) raspberries
d) cherries

The answer is c). In Greek mythology Ida, a nymph who acted as Zeus's nurse, would bring him raspberries to calm him during his tantrums.

Legend has it that, while picking the raspberries, Ida pricked her breast on the raspberry bush. As a result, her blood dripped into the white berries, forever staining them red.
