A woman's work is never done and it can often be disregarded. But the dedication it takes to fight for women's equality shouldn't be ignored.
In 1977, the United Nations resolved to dedicate a day that would acknowledge women's fights, rights and successes. Since then, March 8, International Women's Day (IWD), has evolved into an opportunity to celebrate the progress made and to assess how to further improve women's rights. The celebrations have grown over time and, this year, Canada designates March 2 to 8, as International Women's Week (IWW).
The articles below offer insights into global issues and dilemmas. These inspirational stories emphasize the importance of continuing to work towards improving the quality of life for women all over the world.
