9. Overlooking St. John's harbour from Signal Hill Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless signal at Signal Hill in 1901. Today, it is a National Historic Site of Canada and the perfect spot to scope out ships and fishing vessels making their way in and out of St. John's Harbour.
