Slideshow -- Carnival in Curacao

Join a parade in Curacao with photos from a Carnival reveller.

By Kevin Revolinski

Each Carnival group provides its own band which rides on the back of a truck trailer and leads the group's march-cum-dance along the parade route. The music is called tumba, a local variety that evolved from the music of African slaves brought to the island in the 17th century.
