Visit the Big Buddha
This popular tourist attraction, located at Ngong Ping, Lantau Island in Hong Kong, is the tallest outdoor seated bronze Buddha in the world. It's 34 metres tall and weighs a whopping 250 tonnes! Various public transportation options are available to reach the base but in order to get to the statue itself, visitors must choose between a soaring gondola ride and a bus. The gondola ride offers spectacular views but might not be for the faint of heart. The final leg of the journey is a staircase of 268 steps, which visitors must climb to reach the summit. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially if it's a hot day!
