Accessory Prep – Warehouse



With more than 40 years in the retail industry, Homemakers Furniture is a leader in providing affordable home furnishings to the state of Iowa. We seek employees who are dedicated and passionate about their work. We are seeking a highly motivated accessory prep associate to join our dynamic team.


As an accessory prep associate, you will be responsible for unpacking, tagging, inspecting and sometimes assembling new product for the showroom floor.

Specific duties include:

  • Print report that indicates what product needs to be prepped for each day
  • Drive man lift and pull all boxes from warehouse racks
  • Unpack, assemble, prep and label products to be displayed on the showroom floor
  • Print all sizes and styles of tags needed
  • Exhibit attention to detail with skus and items to make sure labels are going on correct items
  • Prepare damaged products to be returned with proper paperwork
  • Finalize the daily product report to balance with what was booked
  • Restock showroom floor as needed
  • Clean work area at the end of the work day
  • Provide feedback to management regarding efficiencies, safety and productivity
  • Follow all operational and safety procedures
  • The above responsibilities and additional duties may vary as assigned


We are looking for an employee who is a solid, reliable worker with a strong work ethic and a positive, engaging personality. You must be highly detail-oriented while still being able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Specific qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Warehouse experience a plus
  • Ability to drive a fork lift
  • Ability to work at varying heights
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attentive to details and results oriented
  • Ability to set priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Work independently
  • Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (weekends based on need)

Physical expectations:

  • Standing/walking for long periods of time
  • Bend, kneel, and stoop
  • Push and pull objects
  • Repetitive bending, lifting and arm movements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.

Environmental conditions:

  • Will work indoors
  • Conditions may include hot/cold temperatures, dusty surroundings and noisy work environment
