Apple Nut Melba Toasts
Apple Nut Bread makes fabulous melba toasts that will keep for weeks while retaining a real apple-and-nut flavour, so it's a great way to preserve any leftover bread, but you might even bake the loaf just for the toasts. They are wonderful with cheese or pâté or simply spread with butter.
Ingredients
Preparation
Slice Apple Nut Bread into 1/8-inch/3 mm thin slices; stack and halve slices.
Place on baking sheet(s); bake in centre of 300F/150C convection oven or 325F/160C conventional oven, turning after 15 minutes, until fully dry and lightly toasted, about 25 minutes.
