This dipping dessert is so portable it doesn't necessarily have to be eaten at the table. You could serve it on the coffee table or even on a nightstand. I don't think you need much imagination to get where we're going with this one!

Ingredients

3 oz (100 g) each bittersweet and milk chocolate

1/4 cup (50 mL) whipping cream

2 tsp (10 mL) Cognac (optional)

Whole strawberries, sliced banana, passion fruit and kiwi chunks (optional)

Rolled wafer cookies (optional)

Preparation

Chop chocolate into chunks and place in a heatproof dish. In a microwave-safe measuring cup, heat cream in microwave on high for 30 to 45 seconds or until steaming hot. Pour over chocolate and stir until melted. If necessary, heat chocolate mixture on medium for 30 seconds and stir until smooth. Stir in cognac, if using.

Place dish on a platter and surround with a selection of fruit and cookies.

Make-Ahead: Can be made at least 8 hrs ahead.
