Serve up a relaxed and casual Mother's Day dinner starring spring's earliest risers -- asparagus, new potatoes and early greens -- as well as an interesting variety of mushrooms.
Follow the timelines below to manage your time well and make it a stress-free day.

Timelines
Early in day: Make Lemon Tart and Raspberry Sauce. Clean salad greens, make dressing.
A few hours ahead: Clean asparagus. Mushroom sauce can be made ahead and reheated, adding the butter-flour mixture, vinegar, seasoning and parsley just before serving.
About 1 hour ahead: Glaze pecans.
Before cooking: Scrub potatoes and prepare chicken. Cook or finish mushroom sauce. Toss salad just before serving.
Serve.
