If ending the year calls for celebration, beginning a new one certainly does as well. Gather family and friends to commemorate the past and toast a happy, healthy new year filled with special events and reasons to celebrate. Enjoy these nutritious brunch recipes because eating well should taste as good as it feels.

Timeline
Day before: Make crêpes, cheese filling, berry sauce and vinaigrette. Cover and chill all. Clean greens, chill in salad spinner.
Few hours before: Prepare candied pecans. Slice orange, wrap well.
About 1 hour before: Assemble cheese blintzes, sauté and keep warm in shallow baking sheet in 250F (120C) oven. Prepare crab mixture and soak bread for hollandaise. Cook crab cakes and keep warm in shallow pan in oven alongside blintzes. Warm up dinner plates at same time.
Just before serving: Finish hollandaise sauce. Poach eggs, place on crab cakes. Toss salad. Serve.
