Chipotle Smoked Oyster Spread
Oysters, raw and cooked are very popular in Louisiana. For simplicity, here is an easy spread using smoked oysters. Just kick it up a notch with Chipotle Hot Sauce from Tabasco. Serve with crostini, crackers and green grapes.
Ingredients
- 1 can 3 oz/90 g smoked oysters, drained
- 8 oz (250 g) regular cream cheese, softened
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) prepared horseradish
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) chipotle hot sauce or to taste
Preparation
Combine oysters, cream cheese, horseradish, lemon juice, chipotle sauce in food processor. Pulse until smooth, scraping down sides with spatula as needed. Taste and add more hot sauce as desired.
Scrape into serving dish, cover and refrigerate a few hours or overnight.
Makes about 1-1/2 cups (375 mL).
