Sexy rewards for your efforts

-Invite your partner to do something that is physical and fun: bike riding, bowling, dancing, a charity walk, or something else that you can enjoy together while getting fit.

-When you reach a fitness goal, treat your body to a sensual experience like a facial (yes, men and women), a pedicure, a long bath with no interruptions, a spa day, or a massage.

-Plan a weekend with your partner that combines activity in and out of bed.

Focus on the positive
Do what you can to "disappointment proof" your plan. Build in flexibility, and if you can't get out one day to walk, then take the stairs at work. Anything that takes you even a tiny step closer to fitness is another block in your sexual fitness foundation.

Notice as you go along which things are in your control and which ones aren't, and focus on the things that are. You may not be able to afford a gym membership, but you can probably spring for some dumbbells that will fit under the bed. Focus on what you can do, and don't be discouraged by what you aren't able to control.

Here's the least you need to know about being sexually fit

-Even if all your "sexual parts" are in working order, being more sexually healthy and fit can lead to more satisfying sex.

-Your emotional makeup has a big impact on your sexual health.

-Finding unique ways to motivate yourself and then rewarding those efforts will pay off in and out of the bedroom.

-Attitude and persistence are your best buddies when you are on the road to sexual fitness.

Lethargy can decrease your sex drive, so find out what's zapping your zip and pull yourself out of a slump. Also, check out our 10 exercise motivation boosters to keep your body fit.
