Relay for Life
March to September
Nationwide
This spectacular overnight event that supports cancer research lasts 12 hours and involves teams of 10. Members take turns so that a team member is on the track at all times. When you're not walking you can take part in a variety of activities. The event starts with cancer survivors walking a victory lap around the track to start off the relay and once the sun goes down, hundreds of luminaries (candles inside bags) surrounding the track are lit in a tribute to those whose lives have been touched by cancer. Most provinces have at least 10 event locations. To find a event location near you, visit: Relay for Life
