Island Girl 10K photos: Ferry to Toronto Island



On Sat., Aug. 15, 2009, more than 400 women ran or walked a 10K course on Toronto Island, in support of Look Good Feel Better. But first, they board a ferry and head to Hanlan's Point on Toronto Island.

Island Girl 10K photos: InfraRed performs for the crowd



Once on the island, race participants followed the cool sounds from a steel pan band to where InfraRed played at the race's start/finish line.

InfraRed performed a steady stream of songs that had people swaying to a reggae beat.

The ladies of Look Good Feel Better pose pretty at the Elle Canada Refresh tent where, post-race, runners can freshen up their faces with cooling toner, pick up the latest issues of Canadian Living, Elle Canada and Look Good Feel Better magazines, plus score some free makeup samples.

Island Girl 10K photos: Proud sponsors



Transcontinental Media, publishers of more than 40 Canadian magazines including Homemakers, Canadian Living, Elle Canada, More and Style at Home sponsored the event.

Race participants received a swag bag with makeup samples, magazines and this runner's shirt, branded with sponsor logos.
