Many people take low-dose acetylsalicylic acid (also known as ASA or AspirinTM a registered trademark) to help prevent heart disease, but did you know it can also fight colon cancer?
In those who've had precancerous colorectal polyps removed, ASA can reduce the risk that those polyps will recur. Taking ASA (check with your doctor regarding the correct dosage) can also boost the success rate in people battling colon cancer by preventing the progression of the disease. The drug could help increase their chances of survival by up to 30 per cent.
