How to get that classic red lip
![]() | The classic red lip This look is soooo easy! "You can wear a softer lip shade during the day and switch to a bolder shade for evening," Mazerolle points out. To make your face party-ready:
|
- Refresh blush.
- Line lips with a nude lip liner and lightly fill them in.
- Apply bold lipstick or gloss with a lipbrush.
- Lightly trace over lip colour with a lip pencil in a matching shade.
Tip: before starting this look, buff lips smooth with the corner of a washcloth dampened with hot water and apply lip balm immediately. After doing the rest of your face, blot balm off then apply lip colour. Bold lipstick to try: Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lipstick in Are You Red-dy or Plum Paradise ($9.99 each at drugstores); Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in Superb Sangria ($12.95 at drugstores and mass retailers); or Annabelle Rouge Velours Lipstick #125 Raspberry Ice ($7.95 at drugstores).
Practice makes perfect, of course. Try these moves at home so that when the after-work social season hits, you'll be soirée-ready in no time at all.
