This season's sexiest and sweetest sleepwear
Depending on your mood, "slipping into something a little more comfortable" could mean changing into cozy loungewear or it could mean sexy lingerie. Either way, there are lots of looks to fit the bill.
What's hot in loungewear and lingerie for 2009? Tamara Jedeikin, senior marketing manager for La Senza, reveals the colours, styles and fabrics that are leading the trends for this year.
Homemakers.com: What are the trends in lingerie for 2009?
Tamara Jedeikin: In 2009, we'll see a wide range of lingerie colours, from bold brights and neons such as tangerine, pink, peacock blue, yellow, grass green, plum and fuchsia, to softer, sweeter and more neutral colours such as cotton candy, blush, rose, taupe and skin.
Fashion predicts that black will continue to be strong this year, and lingerie is no exception. We will also see a lot of contrast colours in a return to softer, more romantic lingerie styles, such as blush or soft pink with black trim, pinks and taupes, and also fun animal prints, plaids and stripes in both neutral and bright colours.

HM.com: What fabrics are popular in lingerie?
TJ: Trends for spring will include dainty delicate fabrics and details such as lace overlays, trims, bows, ruffles and eyelets. Cotton, modal, and microfibre will continue as popular choices as many comfort styles are being infused with high style.
One-piece, laser-cut bras will continue to rule in bolder, brighter colours and prints, with embellishments. Gossamer-weight fabrics in stretch laces and mesh will become more popular, especially during the spring and summer season.
HM.com: Specifically, what styles are popular in lingerie this year?
TJ: Women today are not afraid to change things up, and we encourage them to do so with lingerie. We'll see a wide range of looks from sweet, collegiate-inspired cottons, to soft, frilly, more intimate and romantic pieces, to bold bright and fun fashion pieces, seam-free and one-piece bras, sports bras, and true everyday, more classic looks.
As we move into new technologies, we'll also see a ton of crossover in lingerie. For example, a lace bra is now not just a lace bra; it comes in different shapes, with different levels of padding, it can have lace overlay on cotton or microfibre, lace trim, lace straps, strapless, lace in neon colours, contrasting colours, you name it. With so many choices, 2009 will be the year lingerie takes center stage!
HM.com: What about loungewear? What are the trends for 2009?
TJ: We will continue to see more variety in loungewear and more crossover, where loungewear can also be worn as daywear. The traditional PJs will continue, but we'll also see more feminine babydoll and cami-doll styles in beautiful eyelets, sheers, and laces.
HM.com: What colours will be popular?
TJ: Soft, serene neutrals, bold and bright punchy colours, and ultra-feminine pinks, purples and blush colours.
HM.com: What fabrics are we going to be seeing lots of? What's new?
TJ: We'll see a variety of staple loungewear fabrics such as cotton flannel, satin, and modal, but we'll also see more lingerie-inspired touches, such as lace trim, bows, and eyelet.
HM.com: What styles are women going to be seeing in stores when it comes to loungewear?
TJ: Everyday staple PJs will continue, but more feminine and sophisticated styles will become popular as well, from long sultry nightgowns to babydolls, shorties and short robes. We'll also continue to see younger loungewear that's more collegiate inspired, that can be worn as daywear in some cases.
