Best ways to spend Mother's Day
![]() | 1. Make her something by hand. Homemade gifts are often the most memorable. Try an easy do-it-yourself project at home and let Mom keep the finished product. 2. Help her get her garden growing. Spring weekends fly by and sometimes it seems like there just isn't enough time to spend outdoors, getting our gardens ready for the heat of the summer. Offer to help Mom get her plants in the ground so she can enjoy them for the whole season instead of worrying about when she'll get around to her planting. |
3. Get her out of the house. Take a day trip together, anywhere Mom wants to go! Take a drive out in the country and stop at shops and market stands you've never visited before or take in a museum or art exhibit you've been meaning to check out.

Update your mom's collection of family photos with a few new ones from your digital archive. Add them to new frames and help her get them up on the wall or on display so she can show them off to all her friends. |
6. Take everything off her hands. Sometimes all a woman wants is peace and quiet in her own home. Get your father out of the house and take any pets or other distractions out of her hair so she can relax alone. If you want to take it one step further, hire someone to clean her house while you're at it so she doesn't feel compelled to do that while everyone is gone!

Try something neither of you has done before, like yoga, martial arts, ballet or belly dancing! 8. Pamper her at home. Nobody says you have to go out to a beauty salon to get a top-notch makeover. Pick up Mom's favourite nail polish colour and other beauty treats and have a day in together. |
