How to lend a hand

Join an Organization:

Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies (CAEFS)
The CAEFS works with, and on behalf of, women involved with the justice system - particularly women in conflict with the law.

John Howard Society of Canada
The activities of the Society are carried out in 65 communities by thousands of volunteers, staff and supporters. The John Howard Societies of Canada allows for strong local autonomy and control of correctional programs.

Canadian Criminal Justice Association
The Association is an independent national voluntary organization that represents all elements of the criminal justice system that promotes the development of a more humane, equitable, and effective justice system.

Church Council on Justice and Corrections
This is a faith-based coalition of 11 founding churches to promote a restorative approach to justice, with an emphasis on addressing the needs of offenders, mutual respect, personal accountability and community involvement.

Crossroads Family of Ministries
A volunteer-based community chaplaincy that supports female convicts by creating a “circle of community.” Volunteers become her new community for at least one year.

Friends on the Outside
A registered charity composed of volunteers that provide services to women within the correctional system. Their services include a support group, women's group, jail team and a prayer arm.
