JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a digital strategist, you will work with the internet marketing manager to develop user experience and digital strategies based on Homemakers’ business objectives and our customers’ needs – with a particular emphasis on SEO efforts. They will be responsible for analyzing performance data to identify and quantify ideas for improvement opportunities, and making recommendations on how to further improve campaign performance, search rankings and the overall online experience. Additionally they will be responsible for proactively seeking out the latest industry updates and compiling reports and recommendations based on their findings. This role will be responsible for designing and conducting user-centered design research and usability testing for homemakers.com.

Specific duties include:

  • Create content strategies that support business goals
  • Audit existing content
  • Identify gaps in existing content
  • Conduct competitive analyses
  • Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization
  • Research, document and implement search engine optimization recommendations, both with the development team on technical best practices, as well as with the content team on content creation
  • Stay on top of trends and best-practices in strategy across SEO, user experience and content, act as subject-matter expert with changing industry information
  • Analyze web traffic metrics and suggest solutions to boost web presence
  • Keep up-to-date with our audience’s preferences and proactively suggest new campaigns
  • Liaise with marketing, sales, design and content teams to optimize customer experience and ensure brand consistency
  • Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience
  • Define audience needs and translate those into concepts for compelling interactions and user experience
  • Document functional/business requirements and prototype user experience and interaction specifications
  • Clarify research goals based on input from cross-functional teams
  • Plan user research activities such as participant recruiting and scheduling, materials production, lab preparation, and other logistics
  • Facilitate design, concept and prototype sessions; develop an effective and efficient prototyping/storyboard process to communicate user experience visions to stakeholders
  • Translate research findings into actionable, prioritized recommendations
  • Prepare, document and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Review analytics on an ongoing basis to understand user behavior to manage and shape content and messaging strategies
  • Evaluate the usability of new and existing products, and makes constructive suggestions for change

JOB REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for a solid, reliable worker with a strong work ethic and a positive, engaging personality. You must be highly organized and detail-oriented while still being able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Specific qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or related field
  • At least four years of total professional experience, with two years dedicated to digital marketing, content strategy, and/or digital publishing
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, able to set and follow priorities, manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Knowledge and experience in digital UX, SEO, SEM, content strategy and/or writing preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience conducting research and performing audits preferred
  • Appreciation and understanding of user-centric design principles
  • Strong self-management and organizational skills
  • Strong team communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Enthusiastic collaborator
  • Voracious reader of evolving trends in marketing, content, digital, UX, and technology, self-starter in the acquisition of knowledge on changing industry information

Physical expectations:

  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • Light lifting and set-up for Homemakers special events

Environmental conditions:

  • Will work indoors, but will also work outdoors for occasional Homemakers Special Events
  • Conditions may include hot/cold temperatures, dusty surroundings and noisy work environment
  • Some travel may be required for this position – less than 10%
