Operational Updates - COVID-19
In light of the current status of the COVID-19 situation, Homemakers is working diligently with our leadership and staff to create a safe environment for all parties. We have made the following changes to our standard operating procedures, and are constantly monitoring and acting upon recommendations from the CDC to guide us through this time. We will continue to update this page as the situation, and our status, evolves in the coming days.
SHOWROOM RE-OPENING - SATURDAY, MAY 9th at 10AM
We would like to announce that as of Saturday, May 9th at 10am, our Homemakers’ showroom will plan to re-open and we’ll be here to welcome you back to our store. Understanding that we all have concerns venturing back into retail spaces, rest assured that here at Homemakers, we’ll be following CDC guidelines in order to provide a safe and healthy environment for both you and our employees. SPECIAL STORE HOURS
We will be operating at reduced hours until further notice, this applies to both our showroom as well as our other operational areas (store pickups, customer service, etc.).
Monday-Friday: 11am - 8pm
Saturday 10am - 7pm
Sunday: 11am - 6pm
In-Home Delivery - in Iowa
We will begin slowly rolling out our in-home delivery services. At this time, priority will be given to current orders. Please see details below on our Store Pickups and Shipping options for alternative ways to receive your furniture. We encourage you to call our deliveries department with any questions you might have regarding open orders (515)-727-1370 or call toll free (888)-818-7283.
Shipping - in Iowa
We are currently continuing to serve our customers with our contactless shipping option. This option includes placement of all furniture in factory packaging inside your garage, in your driveway, or outside the first-floor entry of your home or apartment.
Store Pickups & Returns
Our easy, drive through pickup area and our returns area are open the same hours as our store (listed above under "Special Store Hours"). We've made our pickups process contactless and ask that you remain in your vehicle while your furniture is being loaded.
In-Home Service Technicians
Much like our in-home deliveries, we will begin slowly rolling out our in-home service calls, with priority being placed on existing service orders in the system. However, if you'd like to bring your merchandise to Homemakers and have a shop technician repair, please call our Customer Service Department (515)-727-1371 or call toll free (888)-818-7283.
Room of Choice Delivery - outside of Iowa
We've received the following notification from CEVA, our current delivery provider for Room of Choice deliveries outside the state of Iowa. Effective 3/21/2020, the following changes are being made to CEVA's delivery procedures:
- Room of Choice delivery services will be suspended until conditions allow us to safely reinstitute them.
- CEVA will continue to provide threshold deliveries to the “first dry space” based upon the customer’s scheduled appointment.
- CEVA will also continue to offer NSR – No Signature Required service.
Store Cleaning Procedures
When our showroom re-opens, we will be adjusting store operations to support local public health guidance. Several safety measures have been taken to protect the well-being of both store associates and customers, including:
- Promoting social distancing practices plus adding floor markers to assist in maintaining adequate distances in high-traffic areas
- Informative signage throughout the store and warehouse as visual reminders for safe practices to ensure the health of everyone
- Providing hand-sanitizers throughout the store, as well as, ramping up cleaning and disinfecting on commonly used surfaces and areas
- Plexiglass shields have been installed for cashiers to assist in distance separation while customer transactions are taking place
