Rated 5 out of 5 by from Baldridge Bookcase I love it! It’s exactly what I wanted. I put it together by myself. Easy. It initially arrived with the top piece and one side piece busted. But, Ashley had me replacement parts in less than a week! It was transported across the United States from the state of Washington to Alabama. I have always loved how Ashley stands by their products. I love Ashley Furniture!! I would highly recommend the Baldridge Bookcase and Ashley Furniture!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rustic Elegance This is a great open bookcase/etegere with a rustic finish that goes great with a modern farmhouse or coastal interior. Pretty easy to assemble. Sturdy, but still lightweight. Makes it easy to display your cherished items. Enclosed bottom section is great for a woven basket that slides out to access a throw blanket or other items.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly designed After taking this bookshelf out of the box it looked like it seen better days. It had knicks and marks over it and I feel like the package could have been better because this was a heavy box. So by the time I received this product the end of the box was busted opened. This bookshelf is poorly designed. The instructions are not very helpful and when putting together the section “J” pieces the screws went into a whole of the bookshelf that your hand could barely fit to screw it in you couldn’t use the tool that is supplied with this shelf.

The locations of where bolts were to go were difficult to maneuver and hex wrench was so small it was difficult generate any leverage. I bought two bookcases and it took hours to put them together. The mfgr made it more difficult than it had to be.

On the good side, the quality is better than what I thought it would be. Also the packing of the product was well done with clearly labeled parts for assembly. On the negative side was that some of the connecting screws were positioned in an awkward location that made it hard to insert and tighten properly, particularly the shelving screws.

Pieces broke and the end result was a less than perfect bookshelf where we had to position items to block broken accents. The shelves themselves are required to be physically screwed in and therefore cannot be repositioned later. Pieces didnt line up properly and made building a major challenge. We chose not to return it because we didnt want to have to put another one together and waste more of our time.

It looks more gray than white wash and the bottom shelving on both units we purchased was even more poorly painted. It looks horrible when sitting down and eye level because it stands out. Highly disappointed, but refuse to have to pay the restocking and return.

This made attaching the lowest shelf to the right side difficult. It was a very tight fit. None of the other brackets on the unit were misplaced.
