Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed We were in need of a new mattress (ours was 18 years old) and in very bad condition. After doing some research, we decided on a Firm, pillow top. We've had it for 2 months, and already the mattress is sagging. We decided to go with a Sterns and Foster because of the reviews and it seemed like the Top of the Line product. $3,000 + and we are sorely disappointed. I'm happy there was a 120 day guarantee with it, we will go back to the store and select a different mattress. It took 10 years for our old mattress to start failing, this took 2 months. It started out really good, we slept better, felt supported, now we feel like we're on a hill toward the center. We will not choose the mattress without the pillow top for fear it will do the same thing. We will chooses a different brand, Sadly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not sure yet~ We've had this mattress 4 weeks today. It is the 2nd S & F mattress. We exchanged a Lux Estate PT for this Estate TT after the first mattress had body indentions after only 1 week! Now, after 4 weeks, this mattress is showing body indentions also! I am petite, 5'2" 112 lb. and my husband is 5'6", 160 lb. So, we are hoping the top will even out but not banking on it. Very disappointed given this is the second mattress and the price of both. Basically, what should be a wonderful experience (getting a new mattress) has turned into a sad experience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible We have Hurston Luxury Firm. It started feeling like a hammock after the first two months. We rotated it once a month, which didn't help. I waited a year and a half to file a warranty and was denied because the measurement of the gullies was 1.5 on one side and the other side was 1.3. Not only does it feel like sleeping on a hammock, but the foam layer is also compressed so much in the dips we feel like the coils are digging in our backs. It's unacceptable to have that problem with a mattress that's less than two years old. The mattress store we bought it from said give it a little more time, and they're sure we'll have a warranty claim soon. We just ordered another mattress from another company and will never buy another Stearns and Foster!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Firm Hurts My Back and Hips I am 62 and bought the Estate Collection Firm Pillow Top mattress with adjustable frame 127 days ago. My old mattress was soft and caused back and hip pain so I opted for the mattress with the firm topper. I am a back and side sleeper. Although the mattress initially felt comfortable and luxurious it started agitating my back and hips and I feel pain within 10 minutes of getting up in the morning that lasts all day. Unfortunately, I cannot return the mattress (trial period expired) and it was a very expensive purchase for me. I'm considering buying a Tempur-Pedic topper to see if that gives my back and hips some relief. I wish I had purchased a mattress with a medium topper instead. The medium one may have given me that hotel level luxury sleep I was striving for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Concrete slab This is a horrible mattress. I am writing this at 2 am because I am up again, sore and sleepy because this mattress is so uncomfortable. This is in no way soft. This is a concrete slab with 1/2 inch of padding. Over-priced and just a bad investment. This product changed my lie in that now my life sucks horribly because I cannot sleep and I am always sore. I love that I can at least return this junk mattress. I don't love everything else about it. I was bamboozled and sold a mattress that was not a mattress but a torture device designed to induce pain and deprive sleep. Do not buy this unless you want to torture yourself or someone else. This is a medieval torture device, nothing more. Think the rack but with less comfort.

I recently purchased my very first Stearns & Foster Estate Queen Medium mattress, and topped it off with 2 S&F Lux Estate Queen pillows, and can I say I am sleeping so much better than I have in a very long time. On top of poor sleep, I was experiencing lower back pain, but I haven't had any since sleeping on my new S&F mattress. The quality, workmanship and comfort of the mattress is far better than any I have purchased over the years. I would say Stearns & Foster is the Rolls Royce of mattresses!

We loved our first one but when it needed replaced, we decided to try a memory foam mattress. That was a big mistake! That bed was only comfortable for less than a year. We just replaced it with a new Stearns and Foster and couldn't be happier. We are sleeping much better, have less hip and back aches through the night, and we know this mattress will last much longer than the memory foam one we had.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The most uncomfortable mattress I've ever slept on. It is too squishy and is far from firm. It is also extremely hot to sleep on. It cannot be flipped, however we do, because the side without the foam is more comfortable and less hot. In short, you'd be better off financially and loads more comfortable buying a futon and sleeping on that. This mattress has changed my life by causing me to wake up every morning with a backache. I haven't had a good night's sleep since we purchased it. I am tired, achy and grumpy. There is absolutely nothing to love about this mattress. Don't be a fool! Save your hard earned money and spend it elsewhere!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very high quality [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I called Stearns & Foster for help to find out which current model of mattress equated to my 10-year-old S&F mattress -- I wanted to buy a new mattress that is as supremely comfortable as the one I had been sleeping on (Stearns & Foster 'Tuscan Summer') since July 2014. Sydney in the Kentucky office was the best customer service person I have spoken to in many, many years -- she had all the answers, some to questions I didn't know to ask. She offered all the current promotional prices available, explained all the delivery procedures, and ordered the Estate mattress for me during our call. I could hardly believe how easy it was.

Maybe was that we ordered a Firm one and that was not the best decision, it is way too firm and maybe my body don't appreciate the hardness of it. These mattresses have a very good quality but the thing is to make sure to order the right one .

She falls asleep on her back then rolls over on her side, but in either position, the bed is too firm. The old mattress was three years old and too soft with little support, so I thought a S&F would be great for mom. I had one years ago and loved it. I bought the Estate rather than the Studio, thinking it would be more comfortable but the mattress is not inviting. I don't know what level, firmness would be better for mom.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sagged after two weeks I recently bought a Sterns & Foster Estate Mattress from a major retailer. The first week we had the Mattress we were very happy since it replaced a 23 year old Mattress. At the end of week two we began to see a small sag in the middle of the mattress and it generally got worse over the next ten days. Now mind you myself and my wife weigh a combined 300 pounds so we know it was not a weight issue. Beginning of the fourth week we went back to the retailer with several pictures of the sagging which was now visible by the naked eye. After some haggling with them whether we were using our discomfort reselect we selected a different brand mattress. By our own measurements this mattress developed a 2 1/4 sag within one month of purchasing it from the retailer. I am very surprised this happen with a great American Company which has been around for 150 years. I have numerous photos which I wish I could post to show this obvious manufacturing defect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from HORRIBLE THIS IS THE SECOND STERNS AND FOSTER MATTRESS I HAVE OWNED THE FIRST ONE WAS NOT TO BAD BUT THIS ONE IS TERRIBLE IT HAS MESSED MY BACK UP PURCHASED IT ABOUT 10 MONTHS AGO IT FELT DIFFERENT WHEN I LAYED ON THE DISPLAY MATTRESS WERE I BOUGHT IT FROM I TRIED IT FOR 60 DAYS WENT BACK TO WERE I BOUGHT IT FROM WAS TOLD YOU GOT 90 DAY TRIAL TRY IT FOR A LITTLE LONGER AND SEE IF IT BREAKS IN FOR YOU WELL IT NEVER DID WENT BACK TO THE STORE TO TRY TO CHANGE IT OUT FOR ANOTHER MATTRESS BUT THE HASSLE OF TRYING TO GET IT RETURNED IS NOT EASY NOW IAM STUCK WITH A BAD BACK AND EXSPENSIVE MATTRESS I DONT LIKE

After experiencing several different brands of mattresses for our own bed we knew we had to go back to S & F. Maybe we're "old school" but the old fashioned support system is still good to this day so why deviate from it. Went with medium support and it's plenty firm enough - probably last the rest of our lives(we're mid 70's). We don't want to sink into our mattress, we want it to adequately support us and S & F does just that.

After 6 months, still lower back pain. In our spare bedroom I had my older S&F Estate Mattress. I decided to test it and slept on this for 2 weeks to see if it would help. NO PAIN. As a result, I returned the new mattress and replaced with the Estate Firm Pillow Top. I'm about a month in and NO PAIN AT ALL. No hip pain, no lower back pain, I finally wake up without being sore. I will never purchase another brand. The quality just can't be matched.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plush and Supportive! We exchanged our Beautyrest Black C Class 14.5 inch King Size Plush Mattress for this because of the body impressions after just the first few days. After going back to Mattress Firm we picked out the Stearns and Foster Estate Pillow Top Soft King to replace it and it has been a great decision. The mattress is just what we were looking for, soft but yet supportive and it bounces back each morning, unlike the Beautyrest we had. I talked to a salesperson at another store who owns a Stearns and Foster Plush mattress and she said it is still going strong after 18 years and claims it is just like the day she bought it. Quality, support and comfort at reasonable in price. What more could you ask for!

I bought a new home and furnished my bedroom with a new king size bed, so a new mattress from Stearns & Foster was my first choice. My new mattress is similar to my old Stearns & Foster mattress with a soft, tight top style. I am a side sleeper and this mattress is perfect for me. FWIW, my old, queen size Stearns & Foster mattress is still quite comfortable despite being 20 years old, so my guests will enjoy it on occasion in the spare bedroom.

I am a side sleeper who prefers the firmest mattress I can find. The firm Estate mattress delivers excellent supportive comfort. My first S&F lasted 20 years and my new firm Estate mattress is proving its worth for fabulous sound sleep. The quality careful construction of my new firm Estate suggests this fabulous mattress will serve me well for another couple decades. The mattress is very heavy but with the handles I can still manage to move on and off the platform bed by myself. The reinforced side walls are amazing and will hold up to sitting on the bed edge when necessary.

Last March I had to get my other hip replaced, I was miserable the pain during waking hours and my sleep pattern (always broken) was unbearable. I had a Sternsandfoster. 30 years ago and loved it!! I decided it's time to try your companies bed again. Guess what?? I am sleeping through the night and no pain upon waking up!! Sooo to all prosthetic hip replacement seniors this IS the real deal!! Form or medium are just too rough on my back and not good for posture. Definitely different than the mattress in a box that I am used to getting. Set up was a bit tricky. Especially because I wasn't expecting it to stand so high off the floor! It's very thick. very thick. Makes it a bit more difficult to get in and out. But overall that's the biggest complaint I have. It's a nice mattress and I'm confident it will last me for years and years .

About 3 years ago, despite turning the mattress every 3-6 months and buying a box spring suggested by a salesman, we noticed that the mattress started developing dips. Now the dips are even deeper. The mattress was never really comfortable and now it is unbearable to sleep on. I have never had to replace a mattress this quickly!

We have the Estate Firm, and it fits the bill for us. It's obviously solidly built, with no sag on the edges and no movement when one person gets up or lies down. Somehow, the mattress is also comfortable for side sleepers (me) and stomach and back sleepers (my wife). We deliberately didn't get the pillow top, because we have any body indentations, and that's worked for us; no sag or indents anywhere. I keep saying to my wife, in shock, "Wow, finally, something that actually does what it says it will." We love the thing. Great sleep, no body pains. Our corgi likes it pretty well, too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't go near this matress if you value cool body sleep Awful. We got it to replace a 20 yr old S&F. This mattress is a work of pure evil. Underneath you is some sort of material that resembles a thin wool blanket. It will keep you very hot. I've tried sleeping on it for 3 nights, I got 3hrs one night and 2 x 5hrs before being woken by furnace like temperatures. How much of that was REM God only knows. If you like to control your body temp and 'security' by way of your own blankets, seriously look elsewhere. You'll likely find that you'll need to pitch your blankets off which in turn will leave that part of your body getting gradually colder. Their sales documentation states that the mattress takes heat away from the sleeper, that's a lie and false advertising.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Superior Quality - Impossibly Firm We bought the softer SF mattress and was disappointed that the pillow top began to crater after just 3 days. After 60 days, we just couldn't roll out of the crater and decided to get the other mattress that didn't have such a thick pillow top. Now that we've got 30 days into the Estate mattress, it has maintained it's firmness. The problem is that it's way too firm. I am buying a topper in hopes of getting some releif because I can't sleep on it anymore, just too painful. I hope the premium topper provides a better durability thank the SF first mattress. I just can't take it.

However, the mattress does not recover from body impression, leaving an indentation finding it difficult to reposition myself while sleeping, making a good nights sleep compromised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort beyond expectations The last mattress I purchased was rated high in consumer magazines and by customer reviews and initially, it was, but it failed shortly afterward. While I do not enjoy firm the medium should remain medium - this one did not. In researching this mattress the Plush (medium firmness) sounded good and reports seemed to back it up. After going to a few stores I found this mattress and a salesman with years of experience. "The Plush", he said was the mattress for me. Why not try out the Plush and then any number of comparable medium-firmness mattresses? I did go back and forth, it was like trying to find the shoe for me. After a long while of testing out mattresses, I found one I believe comfort was beyond expectations!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too Hot (even with a BedJet) I wanted to love this mattress. It honestly has the best support for your back and hips. I wake up with no back pain which is amazing. This product would be a perfect mattress if it wasn't for one major flaw, and that is that it sleeps HOT! And I mean HOT. Ive tried blowing 3 fans on me, have purchased a cooling mattress cover, and I am also using a BedJet. It still feels like my entire body is on FIRE! I used to sleep through the night, now I wake up 2-3 times from becoming overheated. I am waiting out the 30 days then I am going to exchange this at MattressFirm for a BeautyRest. In my opinion they have much better cooling technology. Stay away from this mattress if you at all are sensitive to your own body heat.
