Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great frame Frame is great quality. No tools required to put together and very well built. A big difference compared to a wooden bed frame and bed set. Also this type of frame is recommended for my mattress and if I had my previous bed frame it would not be warranted. So having this helps warrant my mattress purchase and helps me know that it will help my mattress purchase stay in good shape for years to come and no more back pain. I don't care for the cover. It did not fit on as easy as I thought it would. It looks good quality but I wish it would be something that didn't allow it to move so much. I wish it was strechable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Went through 2 Foundations with the same issues. Waste of Ti Overall, it's an good Foundation. Would I suggest getting it? Honestly No. I was recommended to Purple for the Beds and they told me don't bother getting the Foundation. I didn't listen. The first Foundation I got was damaged and constantly squeaked just by touching it. I got a replacement and it just so happens that after the deadline for a Refund, the new Foundation started squeaking as well. Now I'm stuck with a Squeaky Foundation and I don't even want to bother getting a new one if it'll just do the exact same thing as the rest. I wouldn't suggest buying this Frame for the amount of money it's worth. You could probably build your own studier frame for that amount of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I have had this product for three months. I truly wish that Purple had the same return policy on this as their mattresses. If I could return it I would. I regret this purchase This product is an annoyance to own every day. The cover/skirt around the foundation is held in place by friction which does not do the job. The mattress continually moves every night and every day the skirt rides up the foundation. It has started producing some creaking/squeaking lately. When it was new it was silent. I went all-in on Purple. Mattress, protector, sheets, foundation. This was a mistake. I chose this foundation in order to save money. Do yourself a favor and spend a bit more on something better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sturdy Foundation but NOT UPHOLSTERED This foundation is good for it's function - to be the foundation of a bed. It is NOT however upholstered. It is literally a piece of fabric that goes over the metal frame. The description is very misleading and, to be honest, was very disappointing when it arrived given the price of the foundation. I can find a true upholstered foundation for much less. I know it is optimized to work with the purple mattress, which we have, but I would prefer to have the quality of an upholstered bed frame for the price. If I were buying it again I would just buy the basic and get my own bed skirt for far less money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Uneven and wobbly. Bought this frame thinking that it would be stable and easy to put together. The plastic planks didn't really fit well and had to use a lot of force. The wooden legs on the frames were all different lengths. The frame also slides. Pretty disappointed as I paid a lot for the bed and this frame. I would not buy again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy and Attractive This was very easy to put together and looks great with the bed. I also thinks it adds to the overall restful sleep. My only complaint is that with the 4' Hybrid, the bed is slightly too high. At 400lbs, it is hard to lift myself up onto. After a month I have figured out how to throw myself up onto the bed to sleep, but I cannot sit on the side of the bed to dress in the mornings. I wish they had an option to purchase slightly shorter legs for this for those buying the 4" Hybrid mattress. I'm 5'7", which is pretty average. I saw another reviewer removed the legs, but I think that would make the bed a little too short. It only needs to be about 2" shorter to be perfect with the mattress I bought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Easy and Strong Foundation The foundation is so sturdy and strong, yet simple and easy to put together. Due to the covid-19 pandemic the white glove delivery was not available in my area. That did concern me a little bit and I was intimidated at the thought of putting the foundation together but the purple customer support center assured me it was extremely simple and easy to do. They were not wrong. It was hardly any work and very easy to put together. I am so pleased with the aesthetics as well as the support that it gives my purple hybrid to mattress. I strongly suggest this foundation or the power base.

I only wish I wasn't so cheap and ordered their Purple 2 mattress which incorporates old world with the new world technology. I begged my wife to purchase the new mattress but what will we do with the old one? It's still new and amazing!.. why get rid of 'amazing' for 'more amazing' it's not ethical nor is it environment friendly to upgrade so quickly. Seriously...thank you, Purple mattress team you will be my permanent mattress brand for the rest of my life. -Alek -Meghan -Samuel -Corah

I did not add a headboard yet so I did not do that step so I'm not sure how difficult that is but I imagine it is easy. Function: works really well! I'm a heavy guy almost 300lbs and I can just on my bed now without fearing the bed will collapse haha. It's nice and quiet and minimizes motion transfer by quite a bit. Looks:great! Especially compared to my old bed frame. Cons: price. It's pretty expensive for just a bed foundation but I'm hoping it will be the last one I buy for at least 10yr. As of now it's working great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Genius design! This foundation or frame & slats is a genius design, when I first received the box I though "oh no, I'm going to have to assemble this..." But once I opened the box I realized that assembly was unique and simple. I threaded on the feet by hand, turned the frame over and pulled it apart like an accordion then snapped in a few cross braces and some slats and it was done! (There are a few screws required if you want to attach a head board, but they actually give you a little ratcheting wrench for those too!) Such a great design,looks great easy assembly and super sturdy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A very cool way to build a foundation. This thing is neat. It's fairly intuitive, how to put together, and how to take apart. I feel like it will be a really easy system to move to a new apartment or house when the time comes. The structure is well built, and sturdy. I had some trouble with the cover, and didn't get it all the way covered, so some of the frame sticks out a little. My only gripe might be a bonus for some. It has a definite top and bottom, due to the addition of a headboard adapter. This also causes it to stick out slightly from the wall, which I would prefer it be flush against it. I don't intend to ever get a headboard, though it is nice to know I can. I would have preferred optional pieces or a choice ahead of time. Bu that's a small gripe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Missing pieces upon arrival Preordered the Queen size foundation and once it was delivered it was missing 4 of the connecting pieces to put it together. Contacted customer service to get the missing parts and told me that it would take 7-10 days to even get a response from the warranty team. It's now day 11 and still no contact. I had already taken my old bed frame and box spring to a donation center the morning the foundation was delivered so my mattress has been on the floor. Really disappointed because it seems perfect but I can't use it at all and it's just taking up space in my bedroom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The BASE - it's kinda tall I already had a Purple Hybrid with 4 inches of the purple top. When I put my my mattress on the base (which was really easy to assemble) I felt like I had moved up one floor in my home. It was TALL. With the combined height of the mattress and base, my sleeping surface was 30 inches off the ground. When I sat down on the bed, my feet didn't touch the floor (I'm 5' 11"). Because of the height, my wife could feel when I moved around on my side of the bed. I am glad I bought the base to compliment my mattress, but wish there was a shorter option for the 8 inch legs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasent surprise. From the picture, I thought the foundation was a box spring like what you would see with a regular mattress. The foundation came in a peculiarly small box that had me questioning how everything can fit inside. After opening, I was surprised that it consists of a foldable frame with plastic boards used to create the base. As a manly man, I prefer not to use instruction when building furniture, and this project was simple enough to do just that. After assembling, I slipped on the foundation cover sheet which fit perfectly and set the mattress down on top of it. It might be worthwhile to get the headboard if you do not have a wall to push the bed against since the sheets and pillowcases are so soft that it might slide around.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too Shoddily Built I've had the same experience as a couple of other reviewers that this bed frame is not sturdy enough for the mattress. It shakes and moves loudly any time I'm on the bed, and seems generally not well built enough to sustain a Purple 4 mattress. With the Purple 4 it's also way too high up off the ground. What's worse, return is very difficult, as the delivery company set up the bed frame and took the box, even as they refused to take my old mattress, which Purple says they will do. Might return the mattress just because I'm so disappointed with customer service.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS BED FRAME! BUYER BEWARE... if you are looking to connect the purple foundation bed frame to a headboard IT WILL NOT WORK! Headboards all have standard widths, a king has screw holes that are 80" apart... the dumb bracket design purple has on this bed are very non-standard and only reaches 76" - which no headboard on earth for a king will fit. I worked with customer service for 2 weeks and ultimately they have determined this is MY PROBLEM and that I have to ship this back at my expense. Welp, you've lost a customer for life and I just canceled mattress orders as a result.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Matching headboard - instructions need work I hadn't bought a headboard as I was afraid it wouldn't match my Purple foundation so glad they came out with this! Overall, the headboard is nice, however I'm a bit disappointed for the price. The quality could be better, it does feel a bit cheap. I also wish it was taller as on a 4" Premier + Foundation it doesn't stick out as much as I'd like. Also, the directions and which holes to use for the 4" Premier were not correct - this left a considerable gap between the headboard and top of mattress. I ended up having to reinstall it several holes lower then what was stated. Ultimately, it's a good headboard, but instructions need improved and either the price should be lower or quality/size should be better to be 5 star worthy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed with mattress I am not really happy with the purple mattress. I purchased mattress and then purchased the foundation hoping to fix mattress issues and didn't. Had mattress warranties out due to issues and still the mattress is NOT to standards. Missing my old temperpedic for sure and wishing I never got rid of it. Purple mattress isn't very cooling more makes me sweat overnight. Have to lay on the edge of the mattress to have a non squishy bouncy feeeling and you can feel every movement of spouse when moving :( overall purple mattress is a disappointment to say least :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best bedframe! Not only is this a very modern and attractive looking frame, the real game changer is the Purple slats it comes with. They make ZERO noise and they don't shift around. Another great feature is the durability; as a professional fat guy ;) I'm not concerned about it breaking or bending due to my weight (360lbs). The assembly was so easy, takes maybe 20 minutes between two people. While being a little more on the expensive side of bedframes, you absolutely get what you pay for, and you won't need to replace it unless you plan on getting a different sized bed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Convenient design, though could use some refinement The overall design makes it easy to set up and collapse. The base forms a sturdy surface for the outrageously heavy bed that sits on it. That being said it has some flaws. The studs for the feet that feed into the frame were all bent. So when screwing in the feet they wobble back and forth. Meaning they also don't sit perfectly perpendicular to the floor. This probably aids the fact the platform slides very easily on bare floors, making it very difficult to align the extremely heavy bed on top of it. Some anti-slip feet, as well as straight feet, would aid in keeping the platform still while laying out, changing, or aligning the bed. For the high price that was paid for it, I would have expected better quality out of the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great, works great We tried the Purple mattress on a regular bed frame and weren't please with the results. The Purple Foundation does a great job supporting the mattress, is quiet and is relatively easy to attach to existing headboards. The only two improvements I think it needs are minor: 1) When getting the mattress onto the foundation, the cloth cover on the foundation tends to ride up and expose the metal frame, and 2) the documentation on the pieces that attach to the headboard could be clearer. It's easy once you figure it out, but it took a while to figure it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior design and quality There's absolutely no wiggle or squeak in this bed frame. It solidly holds our queen Purple mattress. I appreciated that the packaging was not wasteful. The genius accordion-fold design means it ships compactly and sets up easily - literally in minutes, with no tools. The fabric cover gives a very tidy, timeless, low-maintenace finish. It would be great, though, if the "skirt" were about an inch longer as it shifts upward to reveal the top of the center leg on the foot of the bed. FYI I'm 5'9" tall and when I sit on our Purple 2 mattress on the Purple foundation, my toes dangle about 6" above the floor. This is comfortable and works fine for me, but if someone has joint problems, that could be a consideration when getting out of bed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purple Foundation Review This foundation is awesome! Its nice and tall, allowing my girlfriend and I to utilize underneath it for storage! My guitar cases fit with ease! Also assembly was super simple, some reviews on their website made us worried it would be difficult but it actually was super easy. You will need some space to assemble it, so keep the mattress out before you assemble it, and maybe get a soft rubber mallet to assist you in tapping in the purple plastic cross support thingys. But over all we love our Purple Mattress 4! And our foundation was the cherry on top!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and silent. When we got married 13 years ago we bought a queen size purple with what was then the platform base (made of metal). It was great except that it would squeak when you moved in certain ways. This foundation does not have that problem at all. It's been silent, stable, and supportive. I assembled it solo and it went together easily. My only struggle was attaching our existing headboard (which we didn't buy from purple), but was able to get it to work with my wife's help. It's also a lot more attractive that the basic frame we had for the original queen.
