Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice looking piece I ordered this on line, and it's a pretty as the pictures. The inlay/parquetry look is nice. It took two tries to get it here unbroken (be sure to check the box before the delivery truck leaves, if you can, and refuse delivery on a broken box). This is not solid wood, and it isn't advertised as such, but it was more easily damaged than I'd expected. The file drawer adjusts for either letter or legal files, which is convenient. BUT -- this means that the files line up sideways in the drawer, and you'll only have room for about 12" of filing. That works for my needs, but you should know before you buy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from USE AS AN END TABLE! This file cabinet looks beautiful, is well made, and I’m using it as an end table in addition to its primary purpose. I was disappointed to find out, however, that files load sideways, so I can’t get as many in there as the depth of the piece would seem to indicate. Further, the clearance for the file folder tabs is so close that you can’t overload the file drawer: the tabs get all scrunched. It’s also a little tippy when the file drawer is pulled all the way out. Overall, it’s better as an end table than a file cabinet!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful piece of furniture but........ Beautiful piece of furniture but not very functional! There are only 2 little slots in the front for hanging files with only one metal hanger to hang any files from! How are you supposed to fill the drawer with files when there's no way to do it? Why are they calling it a filing cabinet? Quite disappointed for that reason! Wish I could've seen it in person before it got delivered.

This small file cabinet sits under my desk for those that I use a few times each week or at least monthly. Others sit in a bigger file cabinet. I find it practical and convenient. The quality of construction is impressive, with inlaid wood, making it pleasing to look at.

The Hamlyn File cabinet looks good but the one thing you'd think a file cabinet would do well is provide the right width of drawer to hang files. Unfortunately, it doesn't. The drawer width at 12 inches is still little too wide for the standard pendaflex file folder. I can put the files in, but they're prone to falling off.

The first shipment was delivered slightly damaged, however, the problem was resolved very quickly and efficiently by customer service. The second was in perfect condition. It’s exactly what I had in mind, a very functional but nice looking piece of furniture.

It's wonderful to be able to add groupings as need demands. The file cabinet looks like an attractive piece of furniture.
