Decided to ditch my old uncomfortable mattress and upgrade to a Purple mattress because of a recommendation from a mom friend. It's an absolute game changer! My back pain has gotten so much better and even though my belly keeps getting bigger, I know my Purple mattress will keep me comfortable for the rest of my pregnancy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I need to return it - corners lift up the corners lift up on this mattress - twin XL. We contacted Purple customer service and they said someone would get back with us in a few days - we still haven't heard from them. And sheets won't stay tucked in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Where do I begin... I remember seeing the startup ads for purple and being so excited. So I bought one. It lasted about 5 years before I decided sleeping on the couch felt better. Eventually I think, "Let's see how the warranty works." Thankfully they replaced my mattress pretty easily. I get it and immediately notice that the design had changed, the "purple" gel no longer goes to the edge of the bed... but I'm not worried, I LOVED my original bed. It was truly some of the best sleep I ever had, originally. Now, I'm on my second queen size mattress. The manufacture date says "042222" and here I am 6/17/2025 and I'm experiencing very similar issues with this new mattress, only much sooner than before AND much worse than before. The mattress has become soft, almost mushy, in the area you would typically lay. The back pain has become unbearable and I'm just sad with this experience. I've bought everything from a queen mattress, sheets and protector sets, 2 purple pillows (that I absolutely hate), originally a bought a metal frame (that also needed replaced 3 different times due to manufacturing issues), upgraded to the power base thinking, "surely this will only help"... it did not. I even bought one of those ridiculously priced $250 large dog beds they were selling a few years back. Now I reach out to purple to express my disappointment and the original representative, Amanda P., she was very helpful and even made me feel like purple would warranty a second mattress. After a small hassle I finally am in contact with the warranty department which sends me a link explaining the new limited warranty guidelines... to which, I'm immediately sure... yep they're not going to help with this one. I send the photos and explain my situation and sure enough, I'm immediately denied assistance bc they can't "see" the issues in photo. Even though when I sit on my bed I can literally feel the power base support bars... but according to Cameron, the warranty rep., this is normal. To say I'm disappointed in purple would be a firm and complete understatement. At this point I will gladly move on from purple and spend the money every few years to replace a regular spring mattress... at least then I can expect to need to replace it instead of spending way too much money to sleep just as bad on a purple after it wears in even just a little.

We did go with a hybrid model and were not happy. Custom service was amazing with helping switch back to the original Purple style. It was easy and we are so happy with it. We will always use Purple over any other mattress.

The first was a Hybrid-3, which was great and now I recently purchased a regular / "original" Purple mattress. Honestly, I prefer this original Purple over the Hybrid-3. It weighs a lot less, it costs less, and it has more of a memory foam bed feel than the more "springy" hybrid. If you are used to a memory foam bed then I think you would like the original Purple bed. I love mine. Pressure point pain is a thing of the past. So glad I got this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit underwhelming compared to my original Purple Was a bit underwhelmed by the height of the mattress. We also don't like feeling the grid, and had to add a topper, even though "toppers aren't recommended". The end of the mattress seems like it hasn't recovered from being rolled up, so it's not quite a straight line. I had a queen-size Original Purple from 2017-2021 that seemed better.

I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant and I have not had to use any sort of support pillow while sleeping. I have slept the best during this pregnancy (baby #4) all because of my purple mattress!

That helped my energy level and I was able to continue my health regiment to lose weight and after a year I was able to have my hip replacement surgery!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as comfortable I bought a purple mattress last year and I just love it, so comfortable. I just purchased a second mattress for my other home and it such a disappointment. I bought the same mattress as my first but the second one does not seem to be of the same quality and the depth is way different. At the time I placed my order I did not notice there was a voice between thickness. My second order was a queen purple, my first was a full purple, such a difference in comfort between the two.

Its unique design offers perfect support and cushioning, making our nights more restful than they ever were on our old mattress. Nothing beats waking up refreshed and ache-free. Love Purple, their products (we have their sheets, too!), and their customer support team is top tier. Highly recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bed ok for a couple years I bought the Purple 3 in 2019 and it was great for about 2 years. now since I have owned it for about 5 years the mattress sags pretty bad on both sides, My wife and My side. I weight about 200 and my wife weighs about 180. Now I wake up with worse pain every day and think I need to throw the mattress away. for the price I would not recommend for long term.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal Mattres for Us I was definitely skeptical about the mattress, especially after reading the Wirecutter review. But my wife wanted to try it because I sleep hot and I was surprised to find I loved it. I wish this was available for us to try in the Purple store we went to, instead we had to find a Mattress Firm that had it (none nearby) or order blindly online. Because we liked the Purple Plus we tried in the store but wanted something a little firmer, we took a chance on it and ended up being very happy. It's just the right amount of squish and firmness for us and it really does keep me cool during the night and doesn't transfer much movement. My wife is sleeping better than ever. It did take something like a week for my back to adjust to the mattress but after that it was totally fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shockingly Comfortable and Easy to set up Really love this mattress. It provides support without any pain. It is like you are floating on the bed. Also feels cooler than a regular or memory foam mattress. Love that the material instantly goes back to the regular shape as you move unlike memory foam which takes time to puff back up. Overall I am a fan and when the time comes I will go to Purple first again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Six months in, still loving jt. I slept on innerspring mattresses my entire life (even worked for a spring manufacturer for years), and was skeptical of foam mattresses. Purple converted me! The grid makes it feel like you're floating. I always had trouble falling asleep on my back; not anymore. No more uncomfortable hips and shoulders. It's supportive without feeling too firm. It's soft, but you don't sink into it. Quality of sleep has vastly improved for me and my sleeping partner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My second Purple mattress and will buy a third! I absolutely love Purple mattresses since I bought my first twin 4 years ago and a queen when I got married. I never wake up feeling "bent-up" in the morning, even when I sleep mostly on my side. I also love not sinking into it like memory foam mattresses. The only thing I would change is putting handles on them. They are very difficult to move after being packed up. Many other mattress brands put straps to hold onto on the sides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally no more shoulder pain/arm numbness I used to wake up to shoulder pain and a numb arm on my old mattresses. As a regular side sleeper, I was hoping this bed would cradle and support me while relieving pressure. I was skeptical, but man I'm finally able to sleep on my side all night and wake up with no pain or numbness. Also as a semi-regular stomach/back sleeper, I was hoping this mattress would also be firm enough to support but not cause pain. I'm able to sleep in any position now with just the right amount of cradle. Won't be going back to a non-Purple mattress! Weight: 150lb
