Thought the Soft Pillow Top would be too soft, but No. From the very first night, we have slept extremely comfortable and restful throughout the night, unlike our old mattress. We tested this bed out in a retail store and my wife said that this was the one. I love how S&F doesn't make the item until you order it, and it hasn't been sitting in some warehouse for a year. My wife thinks it's a little more firm than the one we tried at the store, but she has zero back pain, sleeps completely through the night, and loves this mattress. Me, I could sleep on a rock & be just fine, but even I have to admit, this thing feels pretty stinkin awesome. It's definitely better than the foam one and holds up nicely with activity like folding it up for watching TV. Yeah, it was expensive, but I now have a very happy wife so it's a bargain.

But nope, it's been perfectly comfortable from day one (and my back is grateful)! I'd fallen in love with a friend's old old Stearns and Foster mattress (did I mention I have back pain?), so I decided to buy my own, and what a difference it's made. I'd had a 15 year old Sleep Number before, which had broken down and was extremely painful to sleep on. The Stearns and Foster I fell in love with was at least that old and wasn't broken down, thus my decision to purchase one, and look forward to many years of use. From the smooth online ordering to the delivery timing and customer service, I couldn't be happier, so I'd definitely recommend investing in this mattress (for reference, I have preferred a soft mattress before this).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I am very disappointed in the Stearns and Foster Lux Estate 16" Medium Euro Pillow top mattress King Prime model. After paying over $4000 for such a mattress and only after 6 months, I would hope that it would at least not sag yet. The center of the mattress is like rolling up on a hill. Both sides of the mattress have indentations where my partner and I sleep. Neither of us is a heavy person. I might expect something like this to happen with a soft mattress, but this one of the reasons that we have selected medium.

I had pain in my left hip on my previous mattress. This mattress has totally removed the pain in my left hip. I did not expect it to improve my night's sleep as much as it has.

I used to wake up with shoulder and neck pain, but I feel this bed properly supports me when sleeping and I no longer experience any aches after sleeping. The only thing negative I can say about the mattress is that you don't want to get off of it in the morning.

I'm a side sleeper and I haven't had any trouble with my shoulder like I did with my previous bed. The only concern was that it took a few weeks to get it because of the delivery schedule. Very worried about too much foam and heat. We did a lot of investigating and felt that Stearns & Foster had a product we could embrace. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I guess we didn't realize just how shot the old mattress was until we spent a few nights on the new one. It is amazing. We only made one mistake: when the white glove service guys offered to take it upstairs we should have let them. This is one heavy mattress! We huffed and puffed it upstairs, got it in place and dropped onto the thing. My wife and I agree that we are too old to ever do that again. Advancing age of the occupants aside, the Lux Estate medium is a great night's sleep.

It's taller than other mattresses so my fitted sheet wants to ride up and pop off so I'm constantly readjusting that. That's been an unfortunate problem. I like how supportive it is, yet has a nice soft pillow top. It doesn't have that factory smell which is so nice. Makes me think the materials used are higher quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 14 years and still amazing! We've had our Estate luxury firm mattress for almost 14 years now and it's by far the best mattress I've ever slept on, luxury hotels included. Even after vacations to luxury resorts I can't wait to sleep on our own mattress again! I always recommend it to everyone. I know it'll be ready for an update in a year or so, it's starting to sag a little in the middle of the sides, where we sit before getting up. I wish I could keep it for life!

I went from feeling like I had been hit by a MAC truck every night to feeling well rested on most nights. It provides support while still giving me cushion on my hips as I'm a side sleeper. I would say the only challenging item is it's very heavy so trying to lift the corners when putting on sheets is pretty challenging.
