Rated 4 out of 5 by from Temper pro adapt medium hybrid I purchased a new mattress after 17 years on a Kingstown posturepedic. I chose the temper pedic based on its name and reputation. I have only been sleeping on it for 19 sleeps thus far. I am still unsure of my complete feelings of whether I made the right decision which is a big one in my opinion. The medium firmness and the blend of foam with the coils/springs of the hybrid gave me piece of mind as far as I believe that this mattress will hold its shape and form longer then the strictly foam versions. I read alot of reviews that may or may not support that theory. In my opinion it's the best of both worlds. The medium firmness is not too soft and not top firm. The mattress does sleep warm, something to get used to. I have neck and back issues and tend to wake up every couple hours to either shift sleeping positions or to relieve pressure points. I have had a few nights on my new mattress that I actually slept for a 4 to 5 hour block without waking up which is new for me. I also wake up feeling more energized and overall more well rested. I also purchased an adjustable base which is nice for watching tv and reading. Last night I fell asleep on my back with the head and feet elevated. This was nice until at some point I rolled to my side and found it uncomfortable. I used the remote to go back to a complete horizontal position. I was given a mattress protector as part of a promotion which is a must! I am currently using this on top of the original temper cover. The original mattress protector completely encases the mattress and would be a process to remove and wash. I also switched to a lighter weight sheet set 2 nights ago hoping to eliminate the bed sleeping as warm. I do like the low profile of this mattress, it makes it much easier to get in and out of bed, as before with a box spring, mattress, and foam mattress topper I had a hard time getting in and out of bed. I am still deciding the pros and cons of this bed. I would say at this point the pros outweigh the cons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't think I would love it so much! In 2 years I've gone through 4 beds. Tempurpedic is my 5th and last. It was a daunting journey after having a bed for 23yrs and it was time for a new one. The problem was trying to adapt to all the new memory foam beds after being on a traditional bed. All I can say is stick with it for at least 2 months. Your body will eventually adapt. With my first foam bed 2 years ago it took me 6 months to adapt. Then I traded it in for a different foam bed due to a defect and that bed caused a major hip injury to flare up. Now 2 beds later I have the Temperpedic and I wish it was my first foam bed. Have to say Temperpedic's foam is completely different than any other I have slept on in the last 2 years. It took me about 4 weeks to adapt and I just stuck with it and now I can't wait to crawl into bed! It's a feeling I can't describe it's just different and my hip is finally happy. My husband also loves it!! I wont go back to any other bed!

Was hesitant getting another foam mattress, especially one that would set us back thousands - especially since we had just had a hybrid foam/spring mattress from a different manufacturer fail on us within 5 years. We went with the brand name and reputation with this purchase and you really are getting what you paid for. We got this in a Cal King and it has been just under 30 days since we've had it delivered. The first few days were rough with our bodies adjusting to this great mattress, but now I look forward to lying down each night and feeling my body supported by the firm mattress. As soon as I get in bed and lie on my back,I feel the support where I need it and will sometimes feel my back cracking from the pressure relief of the mattress. I'm an average sized guy 5'10" and my wife is smaller framed 5'4" and we both wake up now with no pain as we had in our last bed. In true Tempur-pedic fashion, we don't feel each other get in bed since we sometimes have opposing schedules due to shift work. We sleep through the night undisturbed. We still need to get use to very little give when getting in bed for the first time each night and not feeling that initial bounce. This is a FIRM mattress and is the firmest we've found, even compared to traditional spring mattresses. Time will tell though, as the displays we've seen of this mattress in stores feel a tad softer than what we've got - but still firm.

I was very excited for the cooling feature because I sweat a lot at night and after the first night with this mattress, I've never sweated more in my life. And it's been multiple night, still have yet to notice the cooling feature. Very disappointed that this is non existent..:

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I hoped for. Bed is pretty hard and then it sinks in at all pressure points and it's hard to crawl out of the holes. The sheets always pull off during the night. I always wake up with a back that is hurting and this is why I bought it to start with. I am hoping it gets better with age? Can't sit on the edge of the mattress without sliding off of it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was expecting more All the TV ads and hype may be a bit exaggerated. I find my new mattress to be less comfortable than I had hoped. I wish I had asked about a softer model. I got the medium. It is not for side sleepers for sure. It also is not cooler as promised. For the large sum of money it cost, I would have hoped for a nice night's sleep and no aches in the mornings. Since it's still very new, I'm hopeful it will bring more comfort as it gets used more.

I'm still not sure why I purchased a Tempur-pedic, but I am glad I did. I was ready to send it back after a few nights because it sleeps totally different from a regular mattress. But I decided to give it a fair shot and wow! I am sleeping all through the night with no pressure point pain in the mornings. I am getting a good, restful nights sleep and waking up feeling good again. No back aches, neck aches, hip aches. I wouldn't have believed it.. but I do now.
