Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expensive & Frustrating My mother purchased this resin/plastic outdoor coffee table in Urbandale, IA a couple months ago, along with a smaller end table (sku# 476907) for use on her porch. For these 2 relatively small (not assembled) pieces, she paid hundreds of dollars (criteria set forth by HOMEMAKERS asked that the specific price(s) paid, not be listed). My mother lives alone and has arthritis and she says that she shared this with the salesperson, when she asked about their assembly needs. She told me that her salesperson, told her that all she would need is a screwdriver for the 6 screws that were included to put each table together and that it would be easy. At my mother's request, I came over to her house, unwrapped the first table and find the instructions. First, I notice that there are more like 20-25 screws and their tops are neither standard, nor phillips, they are recessed SQUARE! Then I notice that only the legs have pilot holes and that it is NECESSARY to use a POWER DRILL/DRIVER to drive these long screws into the table studs. Again, NO prepared holes, so I hope you have a workshop with clamps OR a vise-like grip while you drill. After returning to my mother's home with the PROPER tools needed (listed NO WHERE on the packaging), I was able to assemble the two tables in about an hour. We were upset that the salesperson had no idea what it would ACTUALLY take for assembly, but with easy hubris incorrectly informed the buyer, anyway. We phoned to let them know of our frustration and disappointment. The less-than-genuine voice on the phone apologized and thanked us for the feedback. I wanted to hear that they would be informing the manufacturer and their staff of this so that other potential buyers would be warned, but I would be lying if I wrote that I really believed it. Instead, I'm left with the opinion that other buyers since, have been slapped with the same irritating experience. This is both a manufacturing and retail experience failure. This is my first editing of the original post. I believed that I met the criteria listed but was sent a formulaic email telling me that it could not be posted. No specific amounts are listed. No profanity is used, and no specific personal info was displayed (salesperson's first name and last initial has been removed).
