Yogurt breakfast smoothies
Too rushed to eat breakfast in the morning? Try this quick, nutritious blender drink.
When pears are in season, nothing will kick-start your morning better than this smoothie.
Here's a quick, refreshing breakfast or light dessert. If you have vanilla-flavoured yogurt, omit the vanilla. The amount of honey you use depends on the tartness of the yogurt.
Yogurt-based dips
Tzatziki is a simple dip that goes well with Greek dishes. You can use drained full-fat or 2% yogurt, or homemade Drained Goat's Milk Yogurt (see recipe link at bottom of page) for an even more authentic and tangy flavour. Serve this dip with warmed pita or garlic bread or Deep-Fried Calamari (see recipe link at bottom of page).
This lovely bright green raita is delicious as a dip for fried snacks. In an Indian household it would be made fresh every day but you can keep it for up to a week in the refrigerator.
Dried baby lima beans have a beautiful white colour and are very buttery, without the starchy texture that we associate with more mature beans. They make an excellent Middle Eastern–style dip that's a wonderful alternative to hummus. Serve with toasted whole grain pita bread.
