Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware of buying Ashley Dining set! I recently purchased this dining set. When it arrived the top was okay. A few days later, I noticed places where the stain came off. I contacted Homemakers and sent pictures. An appointment was set up for 1/3/26 for someone to come out and review. On 12/19/25 I received an e-mail from Edna. It states “Dishware should not be put on bare dining table without something underneath it, this goes for all tables because it can damage it, especially if it’s hot. Unfortunately, this wasn’t delivered to you this way. We have photos from the driver the day it was delivered, so this wouldn’t be considered a defect but custom mer. I apologize so this wouldn’t be a defect but customer damage. But we would not do anything for this.” I find it amazing, for one, I shouldn’t put dishes on a dining table and they came to the conclusion I damaged the table top before their expert has been out to look at it. I believe the stain was bad or had not cured properly. And I had spoken to customer service the day before. She was very rude and talked down to me. I have been a customer of Homemakers for over 50 years and was very happy with their products and their customer service. Not anymore. They obviously have judged I am at fault before their craftsman has even been here to determine the cause. I have a call into the President, Roger Merschman. But no return call at this time.
